We armed ourselves with a new set of tools—learning to build a website from scratch, purchasing a laminator and an inkjet printer from Costco, and innovating on the fly, even using a hairdryer to dry ink before lamination. These early challenges taught us the importance of self-reliance and adaptability, principles that have guided us ever since.
The original name, Goldie and Company, was inspired by a figure of unwavering loyalty and honesty—my dog. This choice reflected our core values and our commitment to integrity in every aspect of our business. Our resolve was tested when faced with a daunting order of 600 cards. With our homegrown operation, we navigated this challenge, learning and growing with each small order until we secured the trust and business of a significant distributor. This experience not only proved our capability but also marked the beginning of a significant expansion.
Our acquisition of Custom Sports Cards was a pivotal moment, allowing us to not only continue the legacy of personalized trading cards but also to expand our offerings. From rookie card birth announcements to save-the-date wedding favors, we embraced the opportunity to celebrate the diverse milestones of our customers’ lives.
